“Six players against Uzbekistan were debutants” – Carlos Queiroz

Tasnim – TASHKENT, Iranian national football team head coach Carlos Queiroz said that in the friendly match against Uzbekistan he has fielded several young players.

Iran beat Uzbekistan in Tashkent thanks to debutant Mehdi Torabi’s stoppage time goal.

“Win is always good but I think a draw was a fair result at the end of the match,” Carlos Queiroz said in the post-match news conference.

“Team Melli is in transition phase at the moment. Some players have not enough experience and six of them were debutants. I am satisfied with their performances.”

“The two teams attacked in final minutes and I think the match could have finished with two or three goals,” the Portuguese coach added.
