“Queiroz is a brave coach to use young players” – Reza Ghoochannejhad
Tehran Times – DASHOGUZ, Iran striker Reza Ghoochannejhad believes that Carlos Queiroz is a brave coach to use young and inexperienced players in Uzbekistan warm-up match, where Team Melli won 1-0.
“We played very well against Uzbekistan and the result didn’t matter for us. Queiroz proved that he is a brave coach after he used young and inexperienced players against Uzbekistan,” Ghoochannejhad told Tasnim news agency.
“They were very good in trainings with a lot of motivation and you saw Mehdi Torabi who was one of them who succeeded to score the winner,” Gucci added.
The 28-year old also stated that Tuesday game against Turkmenistan in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers is a tough match and Iran should not underestimate its rival.
“In the first step towards next World Cup we will face Turkmenistan which is not an easy opponent. They are a good team and we must not underestimate them. I hope we can win the game and make our fans happy in the first step towards the World Cup,” he added.
Iran will face Turkmenistan in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying on Tuesday.
