Tasnim – TEHRAN, Former Iranian national football team captain Javad Nekounam has been linked with a summer move to Saipa.

Saipa coach Majid Jalali asked the club’s officials to negotiate with the veteran midfielder.

Nekounam has already worked under Jalali at Iran’s Pas and won the IPL title in 2003-4 season with the team.

Nekounam, who has announced his retirement from international football in late March, is a member of Osasuna football team at the moment.

The 34-year-old player has also played in the Emirati clubs Al-Wahda and Al-Sharjah and Iran’s Esteghlal.
