Former Persepolis and Esteghlal players hang up their boots

Tehran Times – TEHRAN, Former Persepolis defender Sepehr Heydari and Esteghlal ex-midfielder Siavash Akbarpour announced their retirements from football on Tuesday.

In 2007-08 Iran Professional League season, Heydari scored the most important goal of his career in the 96th minute against Sepahan on the final day of the season which won the league for Persepolis after six years.

Akbarpour, who started his professional career in Fajr Sepasi, quit his football.

The 30-year-old midfielder played seven years for Esteghlal in three stints.
