Iranian striker Jahanbakhsh reaches agreement with AZ
Tasnim – ALKMAAR, Iranian international winger Alireza Jahanbakhsh has reached an agreement with Dutch professional football club AZ Alkmaar.
The 21-year-old winger will undergo medical examination on Tuesday.
Jahanbakhsh will reportedly join AZ on a five-year contract.
He had an impressive season with NEC Nijmegen scoring 12 goals and providing 18 assists.
Jahanbakhsh had already been linked with FC Groningen, Heerenveen, Club Brugge, Standard Liege, Norwich City and Celtic.
He was a member of the Iranian national football team in the 2014 World Cup and the 2015 AFC Asian Cup.
Jahanbakhsh has made 15 appearances for Team Melli, scoring once, and can operate on the left or right wing.
On 26 May 2013, Jahanbakhsh reached an agreement with Dutch Eredivisie outfit NEC for a three-year deal.
