Tasnim – TEHRAN, Iran has dropped three places to 41st in the latest FIFA rankings released on Thursday.

Iran remained the top nation among the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) member, followed by South Korea, Japan and Australia.

World Cup winner Germany dropped to No. 3 in the latest FIFA rankings, with beaten finalist Argentina still at No. 1.

Germany trades places with new No. 2 Belgium as its World Cup results drop in value more than one year later.

Of the 29 international ‘A’ matches taken into account for this month’s FIFA Ranking, 26 were CONCACAF Gold Cup matches and the remaining three were friendlies.

The next FIFA World Ranking will be published on 3 September 2015.
