Jesus Candelas to coach Iran Futsal for next two years: Official

Loading...Tehran Times – TEHRAN, Head of Iran Futsal and Beach Soccer Committee Abbas Torabian has said that former national Futsal team coach Jesus Candelas will return to Iran to extend his contract until after 2016 FIFA Futsal World Cup in Colombia.
“Candelas will return to Iran on September 1st to sign a contract extension until after 2016 FIFA Futsal World Cup,” Torbian said in a press conference.
The 57-year old Spaniard has reportedly parted company with Iranian Football Federation due to financial issues last month.
Candelas replaced Ali Sanei in January 2013 after poor and disappointing results at the 2012 FIFA Futsal World Cup, where Team Iran lost to Colombia 2-1 in Round of 16.
Under tutelage of Candelas, 10-time champion Iran finished in second place after being defeated by Japan in the 2014 AFC Futsal Championship.
