Vahid Shamsaei candidate to take charge of Iran Futsal Team

Tasnim – TEHRAN, Former Iran futsal captain and world’s all-time leading goalscorer Vahid Shamsaei has been shortlisted to be named as Iranian national futsal coach.

Shamsaei inspired Iran’s Tasisat Daryaei to win the AFC Futsal Club Championship less than a month ago.

He is expected to replace Jesus Candelas, who parted company with Iran futsal team in May.

Candelas replaced Ali Sanei after the poor and disappointing results at the 2012 FIFA Futsal World Cup, where Iran lost to Colombia 2-1 in Round of 16.

Iran will have to participate in the 2016 AFC Futsal Championship which will be held in Uzbekistan from February 10 to 21.
