Persepolis edge past Malavan to move into Hazfi Cup QFs

Tehran Times – TEHRAN, Persepolis football team has reached into the Hazfi Cup last eight after beating Malavan 1-0 at Tehran’s Azadi Stadium on Sunday.

After a goalless draw in 90 minutes, the game went into two extra time periods. Persepolis was the better team in the first half of extra time producing a couple opportunities on Malavan goal.

In the 100th minute Taremi finally broke the deadlock from inside the six-yard box after taking the ball from Alipour who was in a one on one situation with the keeper.

The red giants will take on the winner of Zob Ahan vs. Gostaresh Foolad clash which will be held today, in the Hazfi Cup quarter-finals.
