Tehran Times – TEHRAN, Iran’s Rah Ahan football club has sacked head coach Farhad Kazemi after a 1-0 win over Esteghlal Khouzestan in Hazfi Cup round of 16 on Saturday.

Kazemi who took over from Ali Latifi as Rah Ahan coach in the final weeks of last season avoided his team relegation with four wins, two draws and four defeats.

Rah Ahan is currently in 13th place of Iran Pro League with 5 points from six games while they have reached the quarter finals of the Hazfi cup with win over Esteghlal Khouzestan.

“The club president [Alireza Rahimi] congratulated us after the win against Esteghlal Khouzestan in Hazfi Cup but I don’t know what happened a couple of hours later when we heard Kazemi has been sacked,” Rah Ahan coach Reza Shahroudi told IRNA.

Amir Ghalenoei, Mehdi Tartar and Mansour Ebrahim are the candidate to take over Kazemi while Kazemi himself is the candidate to replace Persepolis’ Branko Ivankovic.
