Tehran Times – TEHRAN, Iran coach Carlos Queiroz says that he is not satisfied with the way Team Melli played against Oman but they can defeat the Persian Gulf team in Tehran.

Iran was held to a 1-1 draw by Oman in Group D of the AFC World Cup qualifier on Thursday.

“We didn’t play well against Oman. I have to say Oman was the better team. We hold a seven-day training camp in the UAE ahead of the match but could not adapt to climate,” Queiroz said in the post-match news conference.

“I made some changes in the second half and it does work and we scored. I believe that we can defeat Oman in Tehran. It’s important for us to stay top of the group,” the Portuguese coach added.

Iran still sits top of the group with eight points courtesy of a superior goal difference.
