Ghfouri tore his calf muscle in the friendly match against Japan held in Tehran on October 13.
The 28-year-old player has been ruled out for four weeks after suffering the injury.
Iran has been scheduled to face Turkmenistan on November 12 in Tehran.
Iran is second in Group D with eight points, three points behind Oman with one game in hand.
Turkmenistan is third with seven points.
