Team Melli defeated Colombia in their first game of the tournament with a scoreline of 4-1. Iran will be happy with this victory seeing Colombia knocked them out in the round-of-16 during the 2012 FIFA Futsal World Cup.
Iran have taken part in the Brazilian tournament for 6 editions since the tournament’s inception in 2005 and finished as runners-up in 2007 and 2009.
Team Melli will face Angola on November 5th, followed by the final group stage match against Uruguay on the following day.
The Grand Prix de Futsal is an international futsal competition with invited nations and held annually in Brazil.
