Zob Ahan–Persepolis referees suspended
Tehran Times – ISFAHAN, Referee Yadollah Jahanbazi and his assistant Ali Mirzabeygi has been suspended for four sessions after they made a wrong decision in Zob Ahan vs. Persepolis match in the Hazi Cup quarter finals.
The 42-year-old referee mistakenly sent off Persepolis goalkeeper Iman Sadeghi in the 22nd minute of the match after he blocked the ball outside of the penalty area. The referee and his assistant believed that Sadeghi has used his hands but television replays clearly showed that the ball hit Sadeghi’s chest not his hands.
Zob Ahan won the match 2-0 thanks to two extra time goals by Morteza Tabrizi and Reza Shekari while Persepolis played almost 100 minutes with ten men.
That was the fourth time in this season that the Persepolis referees faced suspension.
