Persianfootball.com – HAGATNA, Iran and FSV Frankfurt leftback Ehsan Hajsafi will miss Iran’s World Cup qualifier in Guam next Tuesday, after US authorities denied him visa.

The exact reasons behind this decision remain unclear, although Iranian students’ news agency ISNA claim the denial is in connection with Hajsafi’s military service, which he served in Tabriz whilst playing for Tractor Sazi 2011-2012.

Rah Ahan’s Milad Mohammadi, who had been dropped from the list recently, was re-invited to fill the gap.

Meanwhile, Iran skipper Andranik Teymourian, goalkeeper Alireza Haghighi and winger Alireza Jahanbakhsh are still waiting for their visas to be confirmed.

Also shooting star Sardar Azmoun’s visa request has remained unanswered, but the striker will miss the clash anyhow due to injury.

Additionally, Iran’s charter flight to Guam was also canceled as they would not have been allowed to lang in Guam, forcing Iran’s national team to take a longer 30-hour indirect route.

Earlier this year, minnows Guam’s complaint about difficulcies in obtaining visas for Iran has received world-wide media echo.

Eventually, all Guam players were granted visas days ahead of the clash.
