Mehr News – TEHRAN, Iranian Women’s Futsal Team started a training camp in Tehran on Saturday morning and will depart for Guatemala on November 18 to attend the 2015 World Cup.

The team launched a sports camp under the supervision of the technical staff in Tehran on Saturday morning and will leave the country for Guatemala on Wednesday to participate in 2015 Futsal 2015 World Cup.

The roster of the Iranian squad consists of Nasimeh Gholami, Fereshteh Karimi, Farzaneh Tavasoli, NAghmeh Moradi, Sepideh Zarrinrad, Niloufar ardalani, Sahar Papi, Zohreh Meysami, Soheila Malmuli, Tahereh Mahdipour, Fatemeh Papi, Fatemeh Etedadi, Azam Akhundi, Mahsa Nazari, Sarah Shirbeigi and Fahimeh Zarei.

The Futsal World Cup competitions will kick off on November 24 while Iran will play against Brazil, Portugal and Costa Rica in Pool B of the tournament.

The Iranian Football Federation had previously said that due to visa complications and a lack of funding, the team would not be able to travel to Guatemala; however, the issue was resolved by President Hassan Rouhani who ordered the sports and foreign ministries to facilitate the participation of the women’s team in the Futsal World Cup in Guatemala.

The Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has also made arrangements with Guatemalan authorities to issue visas for the athletes at the Guatemalan airport, and all of the team’s expenses are to be shouldered by the ministry of sports.

The Iranian team lifted the trophy at the 2015 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Women’s Futsal Championship in Malaysia, earning an invitation to compete at the World Cup in Guatemala.

The 6th Women Futsal World Tournament will be held in Guatemala in Domo Polideportivo Zona 13 Sports Hall on November 24-29.

Wednesday – November 25:

Iran – Brazil
