Tehran Times – HAGATNA, Iran national team captain Anderanik Teymourian, who missed Turkmenistan clash due to travel to Doha to obtain Guam visa, believes that Iran will qualify as the first team of the 2018 World Cup qualification Group D in Asia.

“We do not even think about finishing second in the group so we need to get the three points against Guam,” Teymourian told reporters.

“We had a long travel to Guam but with technical staff training plans I’m sure we will be completely ready for Tuesday’s game,” he added.

“Unfortunately we have to play on an artificial pitch which is a little bit tough and different but we will try our best to get used to the conditions and get the best result,” he added.

Iran, who is currently at the top of 2018 World Cup qualification Group D with 11 points, will take on Guam at the GFA’s National Training Center in Harmon on Tuesday.
