Iran considering Joma as soccer team kit sponsor: Official
Press TV – TEHRAN, The Football Federation of the Islamic Republic of Iran (FFIRI) is mulling over granting a sponsorship deal for the national soccer team to the Spanish sports clothing manufacturer Joma, an official says.
The potential deal would reportedly see Joma supply match kit and possibly training equipment to Iran men’s national football team between March 2016 and mid-July 2018, when the 2018 FIFA World Cup scheduled to take place in Russia concludes.
Joma would replace German sports goods manufacturer uhlsport GmbH as the FFIRI’s official technical sponsor if a deal is struck.
The secretary of the FFIRI’s marketing committee, Abbas Torabian, said on Monday that “negotiations between the federation and the manufacturer have concluded, but the final contract has not been signed yet. We are making the final studies,” the sports website, varzesh3, reported.
Torabian further stressed that there would be no financial agreement between his federation and Joma, and that the FFIRI would not receive any money in sponsorship.
Joma, which produces footwear and clothing for football, futsal, basketball, volleyball, running, tennis, padel and fitness, is currently providing Iran’s Isfahan-based Foolad Mobarakeh Sepahan football club with match kit and related equipment.
