Iran’s Sardar Azmoun linked with Stoke City
Tehran Times – ROSTOV, Iranian international striker Sardar Azmoun has been linked with a move to Premier League side Stoke City, according to reports in Iranian media.
Stoke City, who is currently in 9th place of the Premier League table after two great wins against Manchester United and Everton, has shown interest in signing of Rubin Kazan striker Azmoun.
Azmoun currently plays at Rostov on loan.
The Russian club, who has set a €6 million release clause for Azmoun, is reluctant to sell the 21-year old striker while FC Rostov head coach Kurban Berdyev has stated that he will not let Azmoun to leave the club.
“Do you think I have no offers? I and Sardar came to Rostov together and we will leave here together,” Berdyev told reporters.
Azmoun is one of the bright talents in Iranian football who can easily play for big European clubs. Prior to 2014 FIFA World Cup he had a £2 million offer from Arsenal when he was just 19 years old.
He has scored 8 goals in 14 appearances for Iran national team.
