Iranian-Swedish striker linked with Esteghlal
Tehran Times – TEHRAN, Iranian-Swedish player Mahan Baghdadi has been linked with a move to Tehran based club Esteghlal, according to Iranian media.
The 20-year-old striker, who has played for Iran U-19 team, is currently under contract with Swedish Division 1 side AFC United. He participated in a training session on Friday with Esteghlal.
Baghdadi was born in Tehran but moved to Sweden with his family when he was just four.
At age of six he started playing football in Brommapojkarna, Stockholm (BP is known as one of the big youth clubs in Sweden and have developed famous Swedish players like Anders Limpar, John Guidetti and Bojan Djordic). Later he played in Lidingo, Taby, Vasalund, and now AFC United.
