Ashkan Dejagah hints he may one day leave Qatar to play in Iran
Tehran Times – DOHA, Iranian international midfielder Ashkan Dejagah stated that he could consider leaving Qatari side Al-Arabi to play at an Iranian club.
“In professional football you don’t know where you will play next season. Iran is my country and I’m proud to play for my national team so I could not say I won’t play in Iran, maybe one day I play for an Iranian club,” Dejagah told Varzesh3.
Former Team Melli captain Javad Nekounam recently joined Al-Arabi to reunite with Dejagah.
“We were team mates in Team Melli but after his retirement from international football I didn’t think we could play together again. Javad has great experiences of playing in Spain and he can help our team (Al-Arabi) move up in the table and hopefully qualify for the AFC Champions League,” Dejagah added.
Al-Arabi is currently in 6th place of Qatars Stars League table with 23 points from 15 games.
