Tasnim – TEHRAN, Naft Tehran coach Alireza Mansourian said they will have a difficult task against El Jaish in the playoff rounds of the 2016 AFC Champions League since the Qatari team knows them better compared to last year.

Naft Tehran will meet El Jaish on Tuesday in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium in a repeat of the fixture involving the two teams last season.

The Iranian team defeated El Jaish 1-0 last year before going on a run that ended at the quarter-final stage.

Naft coach Alireza Mansourian is hoping history repeats itself.

“Our analysts have reviewed El Jaish’s recent matches,” said the former World Cup midfielder. “We have watched their last two, three games. They’ve improved and they have kept the same coach.”

“Both teams are looking to qualify from the playoffs. Last year we faced them and our fans were a great help. This year, our task is more difficult since El Jaish now have got to know us better compared to last year,” he added.

“We will try to get our team beyond this stage since it’s a one-off match and we have to be prepared,” Mansourian concluded.
