Tasnim – TEHRAN, Manager of the Iranian national football team Afshin Peyrovani has stepped down from his post.

Former Iran international defender was appointed as manager of Team Melli in last year’s April.

He has resigned following a dispute with Iran Football Federation president Ali Kaffashian.

Peyrovani said he and Iran coach Carlos Queiroz had not been invited to Gianni Infantino’s meeting with the football federation.

Ex-Persepolis defender had already announced his readiness to participate at Iran Football Federation presidential elections.
