Hajsafi, Azmoun, Ansarifard shine
Persianfootball.com – FRANKFURT, FSV Frankfurt failed to stop second placed SC Freiburg in a Bundesliga 2 encounter on Sunday, but Ehsan Hajsafi added a memorable moment when he scored a stunning equalizer early in second half.
Freiburg had won the first half 1-0 against a lacklustre Frankfurt team, but Ehsan Hajsafi, who once more played 90 minutes on the left-back position, saw that the goalkeper was slightly out of position and beat him with an amazing effort from over 50 meters, scoring a contender for the goal of the year.
However, Freiburg added two late goals to eventually win 3-1.
Vital assists by Azmoun and Ansarifard
FK Rostov and their starting striker Sardar Azmoun continue to impress in Russia, defeating the so far first placed team CSKA Moscow 2-0 on Saturday and overtaking the pole position of the table themselves. The decisive first goal was created and directly assisted by Azmoun, who first initiated the attack with a great solo run, before beating the offside and assisting the goal with a square ball.
Saeid Ezatollahi remained on the bench. Milad Mohammadi and Terek Grozny will play their league match on Monday.
Meanwhile, Karim Ansarifard returned to the starting lineup from suspension, helping Panionios Athens to a 3-0 league victory, assisting the second goal of striking partner and hattrick hero Bakasetas.
Elsewhere, Reza Ghoochannejhad came on as a late substitute in Charlton Athletic’s 2-0 win. Alireza Haghighi missed Maritimo’s 0-3 defeat to Boavista due to injury.
Alireza Jahanbakhsh and AZ Alkmaar meanwhile booked a comfortable 2-0 win over Willem II, with the Iranian winger featuring 89 minutes.
Ashkan Dejagah also had a good weekend in Qatar, scoring the first and assisting the second goal in a 2-0 win of Al Arabi, which also featured former Team Melli captain Javad Nekounam.
