Former Team Melli, Esteghlal and Persepolis striker Mehrdad Oladi dies of cardiac arrest

Loading...Tehran Times – TEHRAN, Former Persepolis and Esteghlal striker Mehrdad Oladi passed away at the age of 30 due to cardiac arrest in Shohadaye Tajrish hospital in Tehran on Tuesday.
Reports suggest that Oladi had no sign of life when he was rushed to hospital.
Persepolis manager Branko Ivankovic describes the news as unlivable while other Iranian football characters including Ali Karimi, Parviz Mazloumi, Karim Bagheri, Hamid Derakhshan and Amir Ghalenoei paid tributes to late Oladi and his family in their messages.
His funeral will be held on Thursday and he will be buried in his hometown, Qadi Kola village at Qaem Shahr, North of Iran.
Oladi started his career at Persepolis before moving to Dubai outfit Al-Shabab for one season.
He scored the winning goal in 61st match of Tehran derby on 3 November 2006 against Esteghlal, arch rival of Persepolis.
He joined Esteghlal in 2013 with a one and half year contract. Esteghlal released him at the end of his contract and he joined Malavan.
