Tehran Times – QODS, Esteghlal’s all-time top scorer Arash Borhani has left the football club after nine years to join Paykan on a one-year contract on Monday.

“I’m happy to join Paykan and work under Majid Jalali again. I had fabulous days with him at Pas and I would like to repeat them in the next season. I received a couple of offers to play outside of Iran but Jalali asked me to join Paykan,” Borhani told reporters.

The second all-time top goal scorers in Iran’s Premier Football League joined Esteghlal in the summer of 2008 and scored 108 goals in 288 appearances in all competitions during his nine-year spell at the club.

The newly promoted club Paykan has appointed Majid Jalali as the new coach and has signed Bahador Abdi, Mehdi Shiri and Arash Borhani so far in the transfer market.
