IPL: Persepolis held by Foolad, Sepahan defeats Naft Tehran [VIDEO]

Tasnim – TEHRAN, Persepolis football team missed a chance to move top of Iran Professional League (IPL) table on Monday.

In the second week of the IPL, the Reds was held to a 1-1 draw by Foolad in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium.

Substitute Abdollah Naseri gave the visiting team a lead in the 67th minute on a counter-attack but Vahid Amiri equalized the match seven minutes later pouncing on a loose ball into the six yards.

Persepolis could move top of the table with four points from two matches.

Holder Esteghlal Khuzestan sits first with four goals on goal difference.

Elsewhere, Sepahan edged past Naft Tehran 1-0, Sanat Naft and Tractor Sazi played out a goalless draw and Machine Sazi and Gostaresh Foolad drew 0-0.
