CHINATOPIX – SHENYANG, Carlos Queiroz, the national head coach of the Asian football powerhouse Iran, has said that he treats every game as a final ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Asia Zone qualifying match against China on Tuesday at the Shenyang Olympic Stadium.

“China is a good team, very quick and strong, and we will try our best to win the game,” Quieroz, 63, said.

According to Latin Post, Iran triumphed in their first game with a spectacular 2-0 win against Qatar in a match that saw over 10 minutes of added time.

Iran leads Group A with nine games to go. A victory in China would give the Iranian team a big edge over one of the more difficult teams in the tournament due to the goal difference. South Korea, Uzbekistan, Qatar, and Syria are the other national teams that belong to Group A.

“Wu Lei, Yu Hai and Zheng Zhi are talent football players. But I pay more attention to my own players. Our target is winning the game, no matter where we have the match with whom. We treat each game as final,” Queiroz said when asked who will be the key player for China in the upcoming game.

Queiroz is the former manager of the Spanish professional football club Real Madrid from 2003 to 2004. The retired goalkeeper was also Portugal’s national team manager from 2008 to 2010.

Meanwhile, China’s national head coach Gao Hongbo has vowed to bounced back against Iran after his team lost to South Korea last week.
