Iran fails to advance to AFC U-16 Women’s Championship 2017
Tasnim – BANGKOK, Iran failed to qualify for the AFC U-16 Women’s Championship 2017.
The Iranian team defeated the UAE, Singapore and Kyrgyzstan at the AFC U-16 Women’s Championship 2017 but lost to Bangladesh AND Chinese Taipei in Group C.
Bangladesh qualified from the group as the winner.
The AFC U-16 Women’s Championship 2017 line-up will now consist of Thailand, Laos, Korea Republic, Bangladesh and Australia, as well as direct entrants and the top three finishers in the 2015 edition – DPR Korea, Japan and China.
The 2017 AFC U-16 Women’s Championship will the 7th edition of the AFC U-16 Women’s Championship, the biennial international youth football championship organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for the women’s under-16 national teams of Asia.
The tournament will be held in Thailand on September 9-23, 2017, following their fourth place in the 2015 edition.
