Tasnim – TEHRAN, Iranian futsal captain Mohammad Keshavarz announced his retirement from the national duty aiming to give more chances to younger players.

Keshavarz has already missed Futsal World Cup third-place play-off against Portugal scheduled for Saturday.

He will be out for four weeks after suffering a knee injury against Russia in the competition’s semis.

Keshavarz said he has made the decision before the competition.

The 34-year-old defender currently is a member of Giti Pasand futsal club.
