The match will be held in Group A in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium on Tuesday.
Muhammad Taqi is a Singaporean professional football referee. He has been a full international for FIFA since 2012.
The 31-year-old ref has officiated a number of AFC Champions League matches.
Iran leads the group with 14 points from its six games to date. China is fifth with five points.
A victory over Marcello Lippi’s men will most likely guarantee a spot for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
