Tasnim – TEHRAN, Esteghlal coach Alireza Mansourian says that his team will do its best to defeat Group A leader Al Ahli of the United Arab Emirates.

The Iranian team will host Al Ahli in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium on Tuesday with both sides eyeing the win that would see them put one foot in the last 16 of the 2017 AFC Champions League.

Esteghlal lost to Al Ahli 2-1 in Matchday One and a win in front of home support would make the two-time Asian champion strong favorite to advance to a first knockout phase since 2013.

“It will be a decisive match for us and we will do our best to get three points. If we win the match we will move top of the group,” Mansourian said in the pre-match news conference.

“We will not think about our players’ suspension in this match and will play to our full potential. I hope Esteghlal’s fans come to the stadium to support us,” he added.
