Abdollah Veisi returns to Esteghlal Khuzestan
Tasnim – AHVAZ, Abdollah Veisi has been named as new head coach of Iran’s Esteghlal Khuzestan football team.
The 46-year-old coach has penned a one-year contract with Esteghlal Khuzestan.
He became head coach of Esteghlal Khuzestan in 2013 and led the Ahvaz-based team to 12th position in his first season, three points above relegation zone.
In the second season, Veisi finished the season in the 14th position with Esteghlal Khuzestan, placed them in the relegation play-off in which they faced Mes Kerman. Esteghlal Khuzestan won the play-off 3–0 on aggregate.
In 2015-16 Iran Professional League season, Esteghlal Khuzestan won the title under the guidance of Veisi.
In May 2016, Veisi was named as new Sepahan head coach with signing a four-year contract but was sacked in March 2017 following a series of poor results.
Now, he has returned to his former club who finished in 7th place in the last season.
Veisi replaced Sirous Pourmousavi who has been appointed as Foolad Khuzestan coach.
