Tasnim – TEHRAN, Iranian football club Persepolis is going to select Kyrgyzstan as the neutral venue to host the forthcoming match against Al-Ahli of Saudi Arabia at the 2017 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League quarter-final.

Persepolis was drawn to host the first leg against Al-Ahli on Aug. 22. The return game is in mid-September.

The Persepolis officials will travel to Kyrgyzstan on Wednesday to negotiate with the country’s football federation to arrange the match.

Oman and Malaysia countries also are candidates to host the match.

The 2017 AFC Champions League, which is the 36th edition of Asia’s premier club football tournament, began on January 24, 2016, and will wrap up on November 25, 2017.

The winner of the tournament will qualify as the AFC representative for the 2017 FIFA Club World Cup in the United Arab Emirates.
