Loading...Tehran Times – RASHT, Esteghlal earned their second victory in eight matches on Tuesday.
The Iranian popular football team defeated Sepidrood 2-1 in Rasht’s Shahid Azodi Stadium.
Jaber Ansari gave the visiting team a lead in the 52nd minute. Dariush Shojaeian extended Esteghlal’s lead in the 68th minute.
With four minutes remaining, Hossein Ebrahimi pulled a goal back for Sepidrood.
It was Esteghlal second victory in this season and first victory under the tutelage of Mick McDermott, who took charge of Esteghlal as interim coach after Mansourian’s dismissal.
Moreover, Zob Ahan drew with Saipa 1-1, Foolad were held by Esteghlal Khuzestan 1-1 and Naft Tehran defeated Sepahan 1-0 in Isfahan.
