FIFA U-17 World Cup: Iran aiming for semi-final spot, says coach Abbas Chamanyan

Iran coach Abbas Chamanyan will be happy if his wards could qualify for the semi-finals of the FIFA U-17 World Cup as they start against African nation Guinea.
Coach Chamanyan said: “We had good memories in the AFC Asian Cup U-16 and are looking to carry forward the momentum in this tournament. Asian teams have not had much success in this tournament than the African teams.”
Skipper Mohammed Sharafi said:”We have been working hard for the last three years and are expecting to reach the semi-finals if not the finals.”
“Our first match tomorrow is against Guinea is always difficult to play against African nations. And we need to give our best we are to beat them,” stated Abbas.
Guinea is making their fifth Fifa U-17 World Cup appearance along with Nigeria and Congo, Le Syli Cadet was one of the first three African sides to take part in the competition, recording two wins, two draws and two defeats en route to finishing fourth at China 1985.
Guinea coach Souleymane Camara is looking to take one team at a time.
“Our first game against Iran is important and we need to win it to raise our confidence and help us to make to the knock out round which is our top priority,” stated Souleymane.
