PGPL: Persepolis and Esteghlal both held in scoreless draws, Pars Janoubi remains first [VIDEO]

Tehran Times – TEHRAN, Persepolis and Esteghlal football teams were held by Padideh and Siahjamegan respectively on Monday.

Persepolis missed the chance to go back to the top of the league table after a 0-0 draw against Padideh in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium.

The Iranian giant were the better team but failed to find the back of the net, they seemingly lacked a cutting edge up front.

Persepolis sits second on the table with 24 points, one point behind league leaders, Pars Jonoubi Jam.

Earlier in the day, Esteghlal were held to a 0-0 draw by Siahjamegan in Mashhad.

The Blues are 11th in the table after 12 weeks.

Pars Jonoubi suffered their first defeat, losing to Foolad 1-0 in Ahvaz.

Elsewhere, Sepahan defeated Tractor Sazi 3-0, Saipa edged past Naft Tehran 1-0 and Sepidrood Rasht suffered a 2-1 home defeat to Zob Ahan.

Pars Jonoubi remains top, followed by Persepolis, Paykan, Foolad and Padideh.
