It’s a very deceptive group: Portugal coach, Fernando Santos

Tasnim – MOSCOW, Portugal coach Fernando Santos says his team has a difficult task ahead since they have been drawn into a deceptive and treacherous group.

Portugal, the current European champion, has been pitted against Spain, Iran and Morocco in Group B of the 2018 World Cup.

“It’s a very deceptive and treacherous group. Portugal has to accept that we are one of the favorite but if you look in a bit more detail, you can see it’s very difficult. Spain is naturally favorite, as I’ve always said,” Santos said.

“Iran had a good qualifying campaign. They have experience and the coach also, maybe one of the most experienced of this World Cup. Also had a good performance, no defeat, conceded goals only in the last game when it was already qualified. It’s going to be a difficult tournament,” Portugal coach added.
