Tasnim – TEHRAN, Attila Hejazi has been appointed as new head coach of Iranian football club Naft Tehran on Sunday.

Hejazi took charge of the Tehran-based team until the end of the Iran Professional League (IPL) season.

Hejazi replaced Hamid Derakhshan in the struggling team.

Naft sits five points above the relegation zone.

Attila is son of the late legendary coach Nasser Hejazi. Atilla Hejazi was playing for Esteghlal from 1997 to 1999.

The 42-year-old coach has already worked at Iranian teams Aluminum, Mes Kerman, Gostaresh and Esteghlal as assistant.
