Hazfi Cup: Esteghlal to play Sanat Naft in semis [VIDEO]

Loading...Tehran Times – TEHRAN, Esteghlal football team eased past second-tier Iranjavan Bushehr on Wednesday to book a place in Iran’s Hazfi Cup semifinals.
Esteghlal defeated Iranjavan 3-0 at the Azadi Stadium in Tehran and will face Sanat Naft on January 1, 2019.
Sanat Naft defeated Esteghlalinrch-rivals 5-4 on penalty shootouts on Tuesday.
Majid Hosseini found the back of the net with a header in the 45th minute.
Uzbek midfielder Server Djeparov made it 2-0 in the 50th minute and Ali Ghorbani scored the third goal in the dying moments of the match.
“I am satisfied with the win over Iranjavan Bushehr but I think we could have won the match with more goals. We have a difficult match against Sanat Naft since they have defeated Persepolis and it shows how strong they are,” Esteghlal coach Winfried Schäfer said.
Esteghlal Khuzestan will meet Khooneh Be Khooneh in another semi-final in Ahvaz on March 9, 2018.
