Shojaei moves to AEK Athens [Confirmed]
Financial Tribune – ATHENS, Iranian football legionnaire, Masoud Shojaei, finalized his move to Greece Superleague No. 1 AEK Athens FC for the next season after ending his contract with another Greek football club Panionios on December 19.
Shojaei, 33, played 41 matches for Panionios which sits in fifth place of the Superleague. He joined the team in 2016, Varzesh3.com reported.
The midfielder started his professional career in Iran with Sanat Naft team in 1999 and joined Saipa FC a year later. He played in La Liga teams such as Las Palmas and Osasuna between 2008 and 2014.
Shojaei has played for Team Melli in two World Cups and three Asian Cups.
Founded in 1924, AEK Athens FC, also known as AEK, is one of the most popular clubs in Greece and one of the three most successful teams in Greek football (the two others are Olympiakos and Panathinaikos).
