Liverpool Echo – LIVERPOOL, Liverpool FC Foundation donated official Reds kits to a charity football tournament held in Iran recently.

Organised by Iranian football legend Mehdi Mahdavikia, who played for clubs including Hamburg and Eintracht Frankfurt, the charity event saw 300 local youngsters come together at the FC Kia Academy, in Tehran, in aid of the victims of the region’s recent devastating earthquake.

Professional teams from across England and Germany – including Fulham, Crystal Palace, Bayern Munich and Hamburg – each donated kit to an individual junior side, who then competed in the club’s colours throughout the tournament.

Each year, Liverpool FC and the LFC Foundation donate the unused or surplus kit to charitable causes across the world.
