Could Crystal Palace and West Ham land target after club chief is arrested
Sports Witness – LONDON, It’s been confirmed by Fotboll Direkt that Östersund chairman Daniel Kindberg has stepped down from the club’s board after being arrested on Tuesday, despite being released on Thursday.
This has thrown the club into turmoil and subsequently could have implications for OFK ahead of the summer window.
A number of OFK players have received attention from other clubs this season and in particular Saman Ghoddos, who has recently been linked with Crystal Palace and West Ham United.
Since last summer Kindberg has been the one who has fended off the interest from clubs for Ghoddos, and has already turned down bids from Queens Park Rangers and Celta Vigo.
However, with reports he’s facing fraud charges this could put doubts over the future of the Iran international with the club.
It could now give Crystal Palace and West Ham a chance to take advantage of the situation ahead of the next window. We covered reports in February that the two London clubs watched the player during Arsenal’s Europa League clash with OFK at the Emirates.
Ghoddos could be an option for both Crystal Palace and West Ham this summer, and the 24 year old has hinted in recent weeks he could be ready for a big move.
