Read Celtic – GLASGOW, Celtic and Everton look set to miss out on the signing of Sardar Azmoun this summer with Championship winners Wolves leading the race to sign him, according to a report from TEAMtalk.

Despite Everton being an established Premier League side and Celtic being able to offer European football, it seems that Wolves are the favourites to sign Azmoun. The club’s links with Jorge Mendes could hold the key in getting the player to the Molineux.

Everton and Celtic have both showed an interest in the player in the past and it is reported that they still want to sign the young star but they may become involved in a bidding war.

The 23-year-old currently plays for Russian side Rubin Kazan and is known as the ‘Iranian Lionel Messi’.

Iran will be at the World Cup this summer and Azmoun will be a key part of the team, his international record is outstanding having scored 23 goals in 31 appearances.

Newly-promoted Wolves are leading the way to get the player’s signature, with the financial backing they now have and the style of football appearing to attract Azmoun the most.
