TBRFootball.com – MALMESBURY, The Ostersunds boss looks set to take over at Swansea City this week.

It appears that Swansea City has decided on the man to replace Carlos Carvalhal. Ostersunds boss Graham Potter is being heavily linked with the job and the two parties are said to be in talks.

An announcement is expected on Friday and, barring any last minute drama, it appears that Potter will be the new Swansea boss.

The 43-year-old has earned rave reviews for his management of the small Swedish side. He has guided them to the top-flight of Swedish football and last season led them on a tremendous Europa League run. They beat the likes of Galatasaray, PAOK Salonika, Hertha Berlin and Arsenal in their run to the last 32 of the competition.

Potter is, therefore, an exciting choice for Swansea and, hopefully, he can bring some of his former players with him to the Liberty Stadium.

One such player who would be perfect for Swansea is Iranian international Saman Ghoddos.

The 24-year-old joined Ostersunds in January 2016 from Syrianska and has since gone on to be a big hit at the club. Last season the striker scored 15 goals and assisted nine in 30 league appearances for the club.

This campaign, the striker has 10 goals and six assists from 27 appearances in another impressive looking campaign.

Swansea will need to bring in new recruits this summer if they are to challenge for Championship promotion. One area that needs serious investment is up front. Swansea are lacking firepower and with Tammy Abraham’s loan spell at an end that is now clearly evident.

Ghoddos is an exceptional and versatile option up top. Capable of playing in a number of positions his arrival would give Swansea real attacking depth.

Not only does he score goals, but he sets them up as well, making him a perfect new recruit for the goal-shy Swans frontline.

If Potter does, as expected, take over at Swansea, then bringing the Iranian in before he heads to the World Cup would be a smart move.
