Team Melli to face Kosovo as Greece friendly is cancelled [Report]

Loading...Persianfootball.com – ISTANBUL, Team Melli was due to face Greece in the highly anticipated pre-World Cup friendly on June, 2nd.
According to reports via Twitter from @Kosovanfooty, Team Melli will now face the Kosovan national team in lieu of Greece due to the cancellation of the friendly scheduled to take place on June, 2nd in Athens. Attempts were made by both the Greek and Iranian Federations to ensure the match would go ahead, however, both sides were unable to come to an agreement.
The Kosovan national team faced similar circumstances as their scheduled friendly match against African giants, Ivory Coast, was canceled as well.
The match will take place in Istanbul on Sunday, June 3rd.
This will be the first time Team Melli will face Kosovo, who declared independence from Serbia in 2008 and became a recognized FIFA Federation member in 2016.
