Loading...Mehr News – BAKU, The Iranian U16 football national team have defeated Azerbaijan national under-16 football team in a friendly match in Baku.
The match that was held in Dalga Arena stadium in Baku on Saturday evening, ended with 5-1 for Iranian cadet footballers.
The Iranian U17 football national team arrived in Baku on Thursday with 20 players to hold two friendly matches with Azerbaijani team in preparation for Asian competitions.
The second friendly between the two teams will be held on Tuesday in Baku Olympic Stadium.
The 2018 AFC U-16 Championship that will be the 18th edition of the AFC U-16 Championship will take place in Malaysia between 20 September and 7 October 2018. A total of 16 teams will play in the tournament.
Iran is seeded alongside Vietnam, India, and Indonesia in group C of the competitions.
