AFC – KUALA LUMPUR, With time ticking down to the return of AFC Champions League action, we wind the clock back to previous editions to pick out a selection of great goals from the quarter-finals.

Debut strikes, stunning volleys and smart chips, the AFC Champions League quarter-finals has produced some memorable goals throughout the years. Here we recall some of the best goals scored at this stage of the competition, hoping this year’s edition will deliver more of the same.

4. Andranik Teymourian (Esteghlal vs Buriram United, 2013)
Following stints in England and Qatar, Andranik Teymourian returned to his boyhood club Esteghlal in 2013 and led them to that year’s AFC Champions League semi-finals.

It was Teymourian’s injury time strike against Buriram United in Thailand that confirmed the Iranians progress to the last four. The midfielder received the ball just inside the opposition half, dribbled past his marker and fired a thunderous drive into the top corner to earn Esteghlal a 2-1 away win.
