The Argus – BRIGHTON, Alireza Jahanbakhsh believes Albion should be celebrating their first result away to one of the big six in the Premier League as the record buy prepares for his first start.

The Iranian right-winger came off the bench for the last 15 minutes of the 1-0 defeat by Liverpool at Anfield.

Jahanbakhsh, below, is gradually building up game time after playing for his country in the World Cup and joining the Seagulls from AZ Alkmaar in Holland for around £17 million.

He told The Argus: “I’m really happy to get some minutes again. It’s really important for me to get back into good shape, especially in these kind of games and stadiums.

“It’s always nice and it was a good experience for me.

“We did a good job as a team. We were a little bit unlucky with the chances. The manager knew what we needed to do and we played well.

“It was a good performance. We were a little bit unlucky, especially second half, and I think we deserved at least one point.”

Jahanbakhsh is likely to make his full debut against Southampton in the Carabao Cup at the Amex tomorrow night.
Jurgen Locadia is another probable starter in the Saints tie.

The versatile Dutch striker, troubled in pre-season by a groin injury, came on at Anfield at the same time as Jahanbakhsh and posed a threat down the left.
