Bolivia look forward to soccer friendly with Iran in Tehran
Al Bawaba – TEHRAN, Bolivia head coach Cesar Farias said here Monday that the soccer friendly match against Iran will be a good opportunity for their young players to show their potentials.
“We play our rivals at La Paz which is around 3,650 meters above sea level. Playing Iran in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium (1,173m above sea level) will be a different situation for us and we want to experience that,” Farias was quoted by Tehran Times daily as saying.
“We’ve had a long trip to reach Tehran and I think it will be good for our players to test their bodies in this condition,” he added.
Praising Iran as a strong Asian soccer team, Farias said, “Iran played very well in the 2018 FIFA World Cup. They are a well defended team.”
“We’ve analyzed Iran’s matches in Russia and they are a strong team. I think we will have a good friendly on Tuesday,” he added.
Iran have been scheduled to face Bolivia in a friendly match on Tuesday as part of preparation for the 2019 AFC Asian Cup.
Iran have been drawn in Group D along with Yemen, Iraq and Vietnam.
Iran have not won the Asian Cup since 1976.
